Hello my name is Jake Newstead and I am currently competing in the British Supersport Cup Championship, a support class to the British Superbikes. This is my fourth year at National level where some good memories have been gained as well as some very hard times when I was thankful to have the support of my family and friends.
Here's my chance to tell you a little bit about myself and the rest of Team Tinkler's, as we live the dream racing around the UK against some of the best riders in the UK and undoubtedly stars of tomorrow. About me:
Tinkler's is a family owned business which was established in 1933, which is ran by my parents Adam & Alison Newstead. Now in it's third generation, it's Norfolk's largest premier Yamaha dealer. I've been racing for six years now, I started on a Honda Hornet at the end of 2007 doing the last couple of rounds of New Era Motorcycle Club. 2008 - MRO Rookie 600 championship Finishing 9th overall. 2009 - MRO Stocksport 600 championship Finishing 9th overall. 2010 - Metzeler National Superstock 600 Finishing 35th overall. 2011 - Metzeler National Superstock 600 Finishing 13th overall. 2012 - Metzeler National Superstock 600 Finishing 26th overall. 2013 - British Supersport Cup It’s a family run team with everybody chipping in as I live the dream. My uncle (David Tinkler) helps out most week ends, regarding the mechanical and maintenance work on the bike. We're a well known team within the paddock, as we are all over YouTube thanks to my brother Scott ‘Tarantino’ Newstead. He does video reviews of our race week ends, which you can find on the Tinkler's YouTube channel where we have quite a following. My most successful race from 2011 got me recognition where I was voted for the "Speedy Spirit Award", due to achieving a podium position (3rd) at my home round Snetterton 300. Also up for the award was John Hopkins, Jake Zemke and Wayne Ryan. The winner was the rider who received the most votes via an online voting poll on the British Superbike website. I was thrilled to win the award and very grateful for the support of the fans and members of the public.
Many thanks for your time in advance Kind regards Jake Newstead #13 Anyone interested in getting involved with the Team can contact us via email sales@tinklersmotorcycles.co.uk or donate money to the team via paypal link below. |
